For more than 20 years The New Orleans Creole Restaurant, near the heart of Seattle's historic Pioneer Square district, has been a bastion of live music in Seattle. The place is a Seattle institution. Looking for jazz in Seattle? Looking for blues in Seattle? Look no farther. Some of the best jazz and blues in Seattle happens nightly on stage at the New Orleans. This one-of-a-kind club was opened in the mid-80's and from its earliest days has been one of Seattle's most prominent venues. Nearly every popular local jazz or blues musician has played at the New Orleans. Musicians and audiences alike recognize the unique nature of the place.
The New Orleans is not only famous for jazz and blues, but Miss Gaye and her staff serve up great Cajun and Creole cookin', adult libations, and exotic specialty drinks, all with an extra large helping of down-home hospitality. One visit to the New Orleans will surely land it on your list of things you need to do again.
During the week, you'll find some of the best live jazz
in Seattle on the New Orleans' stage. The house bands include The New Orleans Quintet,
Holotradband,
The Legacy Band directed by Clarence Acox, and
The Ham Carson Quintet.
You can get your jazz fix, have dinner and drinks, and still get home
early enough to get a good night's sleep. For more information check out our Mon-Thur schedule.
Weekends, the intensity level
gets bumped up a notch and the New Orleans
becomes
one of Seattle's hottest live blues joints.
If you're looking for the
most festive atmosphere or the hottest blues in Seattle, head for Pioneer Square and go directly to the New Orleans. That's where
it's happening. It would be tough for any place north of the French Quarter to top
weekends at the New Orleans.
Our week-end schedule for this month is right here. The New Orleans, along with five other great clubs, participates in Pioneer Square's joint cover program. Pay the standard cover charge at any of the six clubs and receive admittance to that club. Upgrade your cover charge stamp at that club for a small fee - a total of $12 - and your upgraded cover charge stamp will be honored at any of the six of these great Pioneer Square clubs. It's a deal you can't afford to pass up.
Families with children can eat and enjoy the music nightly until 10 p.m. We cater to special group events and celebrations for either lunch or dinner; call for information about our large semi-private balcony. Large parties are welcome in the lounge and the dining room as well. Enjoy the sun and the feel of the city from our First Avenue deck during the warmer months.
The New Orleans is a short walk to the waterfront, the convention center, the International District, Safeco Field, and Qwest Stadium.
On first Thursdays, make a special evening by attending the Gallery Walk followed by dinner and music at the New Orleans.
